See all folk like wasps astir

Wonder why the land’s a blur?

To just one Man the crowds do bend

See weddings saved and funerals end!

I bear myself ample witness

Of cripples seen in fullest fitness

Men freed that Hell for long did hound

Prisons emptied of the bound

The blind can see, the dumb can talk

Could it be we’ve reached the fork?

Is this what the Baptist warned?

Will we see the prophets scorned?

For thundered this did great Isaiah

Loftiest of seers by far

To Galilee He’d come in time

Light in darkness He would shine

And Jacob this did prophesy

Brought fair words to Naphtali

Brethren, take you it to heart

How the sceptre did depart?

Hear you not fair Heaven’s chimes?

Read at all signs of the times?

Think you not this rising star

Could be at last our great Messiah?
