THIS WORLD TOO

19. THIS WORLD TOO

An age ago there was a man

Of right good stock and finest clan

To him by God was picture sent

A vision of skies dark and rent

Shown those days most distressing

Set upon a task quite pressing

Men asked him why a boat did make

When lived so far from sea or lake

Mostly they did stand and mock

Saw not that they were in the dock

When done twas not too long to wait

Swift unfolds the coming fate

Beasts came in haste to book a slot

Those that saw what men could not

Then Deluge came and all was lost

And those behind did pay the cost

For us today there is a lesson

We who spend our days amessin’

Wise for us our lives to mend

For this world too must soon end.
